Trick question IT IS BOTH and I also am coming in HOT with having signed a contract for my short story “Nor Suffer a Sea Change.” No, it is not yet available (nor shall be, for almost a year) but I wanted to toot my own horn because this story, this poor story, has been waiting eleven-ass years to get published, and holds the distinction of having the second-most number of submissions, coming in at a big round 40. It’s one of the few stories that I made significant changes to partway through the submissions process (the ending had been even more nihilistic) and possibly the only one that also had a title change. (Originally it had been called “What Changes With Love,” but I decided that sounded too generic.)

(“omg can’t beLIEVE the title changed to a quote from Shakespeare’s The Tempest and he think it sounds less generic now, smh” hey shut up though)

Anyway that’s something to look forward to and goodness knows something to look forward to is always a nice thing, even if it does end in a certain amount of nihilism.

(I swear to gosh my recent stories are much less nihilistic*, they just need to sell.)
